Now that pretty much everyone’s a photographer it can be hard to find work that excites the tired eye. Kristina Podobed submitted her work to us by attaching a folder of 300 images to a virtually blank email, with no introduction and no information about herself. The photos speak for themselves; Kristina has a photographic language of her own, communicating a sense of freedom, wildness, and womanhood. Appropriating the style of raw point-and-shoot photography often found in party boy portfolios, Kristina snaps her own nipples and pubic hair, documenting her friends running free in Odessa and Kiev. I’d say her work is fashionable, journalistic, and political. -CM

In no way. I never did it. I don’t know, and don’t want to. I can not evaluate them sensibly. For me they are always different.
