Shoot the Breeze: Attilio Solzi

Attilio Solzi shocks and satisfies with an unconventional look into the small-town world of northern Italy. The photographer’s third book Taedium, displayed at the Tate Modern in London, is a collection of nude portraits and vulgar images that highlight Solzi’s distinct aesthetic. This 100-page collection of set photography and collage focuses on the people and neighbourhoods that surround his studio. Through careful selection Solzi delivers a grotesque and barren view of rural Italian life. Be sure to check out Attilio’s other photobooks, Flat Land and Women. – Ava Bradley
