Hi! I am Gigi, I am a 20-something-year-old art student enjoying my life in the mid-2000s. I want to show you my environment, a place where people want to be and spend time in. I love La Monte Young’s Dream House! In my environment, there is a 4 channel sound installation, I want it to be seen as a narrative, and feel like an experience. It starts off with footsteps walking and panning, circling around the space, wet rain, specific quotes from songs I like (Primal scream, Shakespeare Sisters, OMD), club music muffled by a wall begins to get louder as it gets later into the night. The underground is where ideas form, evolve. For me, this is my world! Linoleum floor designs mark each scene and each design represents an idea, I titled them ideas #1-8. There is a party scene, a runway, a school art show, a place of love and friendship and a bare minimum bed for me to sleep on! In the center, it is empty, it is a clear space for me to create my work. Hearts & stars float and burst throughout the space! They are pages from my diary. I want my environment to be lush but also kind of scary. Personalized head- phones transform you into me, as you watch a video playlist of my curated Myspace profile songs! Artwork hangs on the wall, (titled Art Star #1 and Art Star #2) they are more of an idea of an artwork as I am an idea of a person.

XoXo Gigi
