New York designer Raffaella Hanley designs under the name Lou Dallas, referring to her fictional muse. According to Raffaella, Lou Dallas is a woman who abides by no rules of dress, existing in an atmosphere of melancholy romance and imaginary narrative. Lou Dallas is impressionistic, not realistic. Unapologetically contradictory, she is a damsel who comes and goes, dolled up and dishevelled. Here Raffaella styles an editorial contemplating the relationship between artist and muse, using her own designs throughout.
